Thoughts 7.12.22
I’m not so sure about the idea of manifesting anything into your life. However, I have learned in my own and observed in the lives of those around me the bizarre power of seeing the things you are focusing on and giving attention to in your life coming to pass. I know people whose thoughts are focused solely on achievement and success and at times even a quiet greed… and you know what? I have seen many of those people achieve precisely what they were focusing on. I’ve observed people devoted and focused on finding a partner for their lives, and over time - they found them. I have seen people who are so full of potential and who have deep power in their bones, yet who focus only on the negative and the lack. And the crazy thing is… they can’t seem to find traction. What is equally astounding to me are the people who would on the surface have “little going for them”, yet have an attitude of optimism for themselves and others, seem to be the ones who life rewards. What if our subconscious mind is more responsible for our outward realities than we give credit for? What if the scriptures admonishment to think on “whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things” is not just a feel good encouragement, but instead an eternal rule of law? Now these things rarely come packaged as absolutes, but I would say the trends I have observed are pretty stacked in favor of this concept. My hope today is for us to focus our thoughts, our goals, our desires on the things that are lovely, on the things that are pure. May we bring about the good. That we would think on it, allow our thoughts to form our loves, and our loves to be the inherent catalyst for our actions and the building blocks of lives lived excellent and worthy of praise.
